The American jazz pianist and composer Herbie Hancock is one of the most outstanding jazz musicians of our time. In his excellent compositions and improvisations, he combines the diversity of the most diverse jazz genres such as free, cool and fusion with funk and cross-rhythms through to rap. My pictures also combine the most diverse forms of expression in terms of technology, applying color and composing it in and with one another, juxtaposing it, creating tension or harmony, developing new forms and spaces. Color harmonies are subliminally reinforced by strong complementary colors, but these never develop a life of their own, but are subordinate to the overall composition of the subject and thus to the painting as a virtual space. The images appear light, even seem to float in free improvisation, but get a supporting base through the shaping on the outer design level of the 3D-shaped frame; the spatial immanence of the padded wall object, one could also say wall cushion, undermines the here and now, connects the fleeting dream with the reality of all of us. These works are juxtaposed with compositions by Herbie Hancock.
