This special series is dedicated to the most important composer of Viennese Classicism; Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart; a child prodigy as a musician and an esthete as a composer; In this combination, Mozart wrote his legacy into our cultural memory. Under the sound of his music I have created this series of works dedicated to the masterful works of this great composer.
These works have been created in a form of representation that I have newly developed, so-called “painted and padded wall objects”. A handmade stretcher frame with rounded edges is covered with a first canvas. I pull a few layers of padding over this, over which the top canvas is finally stretched. This external 3-D form of representation of these works allows the viewer to immerse himself in new pictorial levels and worlds of images in connection with the complexity of my painted picture surfaces and to experience the beauty of Mozart's musical works in a new way.
